Lord Rama, the Original Teacher of our Shaktipat Lineage
In Sanskrit, Shakti means "power" or "energy," and pat means "transfer." Even though there are many ways of indirectly awakening the Kundalini energy, the simplest, quickest, and most effective method is through Shaktipat initiation.
This transfer of energy also creates a subtle bond between the teacher and the student that allows the teacher to boost the disciple's Kundalini when needed and to guide its path, eliminating obstructions that may arise from time to time in its upward travel toward the brain center. Without awakening the Kundalini, it is not possible to attain higher states of spiritual evolution.
Although regular meditation is necessary to keep the Kundalini moving upwards, Shaktipat initiation is the single most effective way to ensure spiritual progress and the attainment of the ultimate goal.
Shaktipat Initiation, Awakening the Kundalini
"Kundalini can be
awaken by attaining perfection of certain hatha yoga postures called asanas, by certain breathing exercises aimed at controlling the breath called pranayama, by God's grace, by meditation or by intense devotion. Another technique of great importance is
Shaktipat, the transmission of energy. A powerful yogi can transmit
energy to an aspirant and awaken the Kundalini. This is accomplished in
one of four ways: by touch, gaze, sound, or thought. The yogi may touch
the disciple and transmit energy through physical contact, or gaze at
the disciple and let the energy flow from the yogi's eyes. The yogi may
utter words which carry energy or, in a more subtle way, energy can be
transferred directly by the yogi's thought or will. The process of
Shaktipat, or energy transmission, can be performed only by those yogis
who have gained complete control over the life force, which in Sanskrit
is called prana.
Once the Kundalini is awaken, the student may have a variety of
experiences: seeing flashes of light or colors, hearing internal sounds
of bells ringing or bees humming, spontaneous vibrations or movements of
the body and greater mental peace, to name a few. Different individuals
will have different different experiences —there is no definite pattern
applicable to everyone. Once the kundalini is awakened, this fact
becomes known through the student's own experiences. If at this stage
the student persists in spiritual practices such as meditation, then the
Kundalini will travel upward from the base of the spinal column where
She lay dormant before.
During Her upward journey through the spinal column, She will
pierce all the chakras in succession and ultimately reach the sahasrara
chakra [at the crown of the head]. When this happens, the student
attains a state of transcendental consciousness called samadhi, understands his/her true identity and is thereby liberated.
During the student's spiritual efforts, the Guru's help is of
immense value. Shaktipat initiation creates a subtle bond between the
teacher and student and allows the teacher to give fresh impetus to his
or her student's Kundalini and eliminate obstructions that may
arise.
In my training period of over thirty years I had contact with
many capable yogis. I underwent severe austerities in India at
Chitrakut, Girnar, Mount Abu and in the Himalayas. By the grace of God
and according to the power and instructions given by my Guru, I have
given Shaktipat to a large number of people in India and the United
States. Their Kundalini has been awakened. They have attained peace of
mind and good health. They have been led on the spiritual path."

Benefits of Meditation
-
The ultimate benefit of meditation is the realization of God, but there are many other advantages in every stage of spiritual development. Because the awakening of the Kundalini has the effect of purifying the body in general and the nervous system in particular, diseases of the body and mind are greatly improved.
About
-
The tradition of worship and adoration by a group is an ancient one in India, as well as in other parts of the world and in many religious traditions. Congregation is the rule rather than the exception. In group meditation, the individuality of the meditator subserves the emergence of a group "personality."
Dhyanyogi Madhusudandasji
-
Shri Dhyanyogi was an exceptional master of yogic science. Born in Bihar, India, Shri Dhyanyogi was a very meditative child. His spiritual quest began at the age of seven when he ran away from home in search of God. Although he was quickly found by his parents, he left again for good at age 13.
